Why a cradle matters

Most infusers leave you holding a dripping basket with nowhere to put it. The cradle catches it, which keeps the counter clean and lets you steep a second cup from the same flowers — worth doing with blue lotus, which gives up more on a second pass than most people expect.

Reusable, which is the point

One infuser replaces every tea bag you would otherwise buy and throw away. It works out cheaper and it produces no waste. Loose tea also tends to be better tea: whole leaf and whole flower rather than the dust and fannings that fill most bags.

How to use it

Open the two halves, add loose tea or whole flowers — about one to two teaspoons of leaf, or one to two whole blue lotus flowers — close it, and lower it into your cup. Steep, lift, and rest it on the cradle. Rinse under the tap or run it through the dishwasher.

Don't pack it tight. Leaves and petals need room to open, and a crowded basket steeps unevenly.
